Pallet Rack Inspections

Pallet Rack Inspections for Safer Storage

Regular pallet rack inspections help identify damage, wear, installation issues, and other conditions that can affect the safety and performance of your storage system. NAS Group provides professional inspections for pallet racking, shelving, and storage platforms, documenting potential hazards and helping you determine where repairs or corrective action may be required.

Identify Racking Damage

We check frames, beams, braces, anchors, and connections throughout your system, flagging anything that affects stability or load capacity.

Document Inspection Findings

Receive a clear record of every issue by location and severity, so you can prioritize repairs and keep your racking records up to date.

Safety & Compliance

Annual inspections, or more frequent visits for high-traffic facilities, catch problems before they escalate and give you the documentation safety inspectors expect to see.

Storage Solutions, Installed Across Canada

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a pallet racking inspection look for?
A pallet racking inspection looks for forklift impact damage, bent frames and beams, cracked or twisted braces, missing components like beam locks (safety clips), loose anchors, and uprights that are out of plumb. Inspectors also check that load capacity plaques are present and match how the system is being used, and whether any changes to beam levels or layout have affected rated capacity.
Can my own staff inspect our pallet racking?
Trained staff can and should handle routine visual checks between professional inspections. A full inspection should be done by a qualified professional, such as NAS Group's inspection team, who can measure damage against engineering tolerances, assess whether components can stay in service, and document the findings formally.
Do I need to shut down my warehouse for a rack inspection?
Usually not. Inspections are typically carried out while your operation keeps running, working through the facility one area at a time. Access to specific aisles may be needed briefly so the inspector can check each bay safely.
What happens after a pallet rack inspection?
Once the inspection is complete, you'll know which components need attention and how urgently. From there, NAS Group can quote and complete any repairs or replacements, update load capacity plaques if needed, and help you plan when your next inspection should take place.
Can pallet racking be inspected by a company that didn't manufacture it?
Yes. A qualified inspection team can assess any pallet racking system, regardless of who manufactured or installed it. NAS Group inspects existing systems from all manufacturers, so you can use one team for inspections, repairs, and ongoing support across your whole facility.
