Frequently Asked Questions

Should pallet racking installers be insured?
Yes. Pallet racking installers should carry provincial workplace insurance to protect both their crews and your facility. NAS Group's installation crews maintain full workplace insurance coverage (WSIB, WCB, or WorkSafeBC depending on the province) and follow strict safe work practices to reduce risk on the job site.
Can pallet racking be installed without shutting down a warehouse?
Yes. NAS Group's project managers work with each client's logistics team to phase installation into isolated zones, so receiving, picking, and shipping can continue safely in the rest of the facility while minimizing disruption to daily operations.
Is pallet racking anchored to the floor during installation?
Yes. Floor anchoring is required for structural compliance. NAS Group's crews plumb and shim every upright frame to account for uneven concrete, then anchor each baseplate to the slab using engineered anchors installed to the specified embedment depth and torque, meeting the seismic and structural requirements of the system design.
What happens after a pallet rack installation is complete?
NAS Group conducts a final safety walkthrough to verify that all beams, safety clips, row spacers, and anchors are installed to plan. It then coordinates the required engineering sign-off, such as a Pre-Start Health and Safety Review (PSR) in Ontario or stamped structural drawings by a local P.Eng. in other provinces, and installs capacity plaques at row ends so the facility can begin loading inventory.
Can old racking be removed before a new system is installed?
Yes. When an existing system is being replaced, NAS Group handles the full teardown and removal as part of the project scope, including disposal or recycling of the decommissioned steel, so the facility is cleared and ready for installation without added logistics for the client.
